CITY OF AGOURA HILLS: Restaurant Noncompliance Update

Businessbillboard

City of Agoura Hills issued the following announcement on Dec 14.

Dear Agoura Hills Community:

As a result of recent protests and social gatherings located at, and near, the intersection of Kanan Road and Thousand Oaks Boulevard, there continues to be growing concerns raised about ongoing violations of the State and County Health Orders, as well as questions raised about the City’s role in enforcement.

As previously mentioned, the City does not have its own health department, and therefore relies on the Los Angeles County Public Health Department as the enforcement authority responsible for ensuring compliance with public health laws.

Due to community-wide concerns expressed about Cronies, the following information is being provided as an update:

On Saturday, December 12, 2020, LA County Public Health delivered a letter to Cronies revoking their health permit.  Cronies now has the right to formally appeal the Health Department’s decision within a specified timeframe.  In the meantime, Cronies is prohibited from conducting any business operations.  Non-compliance during the appeals period will result in continued enforcement by the County Health Department.

The State Department of Alcohol Beverage Control (ABC) is conducting their own investigation, and is in the midst of their own “due process” procedures of enforcement which could, among other things, result in the revocation of their liquor license.

Although social gathering is prohibited, protesting is allowed.  We would encourage that protesting be done peacefully, and that social distancing guidelines be strictly adhered to, and that all participants wear masks.

Thank you for your continued patience and cooperation.  The City will release additional information as it becomes available.
