Alyssa Malla, a former Independence High School star now playing for the Point Loma Sea Lions, will take part in the Division II NCAA Basketball Tournament.
The Sea Lions hold the number 7 seed in the tournament and will face the second-seeded Western Washington Vikings in the opening round.
Game one is scheduled for Friday, March 13, at 2:30 p.m. at Nicholson Arena.
Robert Vaihola will return to play for San José State men’s basketball during his senior year after spending last season at Minnesota. Coach Tim Miles praised Vaihola’s impact during his previous stints with SJSU.
