Kaviana Jurries named Mountain West Vault Specialist after career-best performance

San Jose State women’s gymnast Kaviana Jurries has been named the Mountain West Vault Specialist of the Week. The recognition comes after her recent performance at a dual meet hosted by Utah State, where she achieved a career-best score of 9.875 on vault, earning her second consecutive vault title.

Jurries is now the second San Jose State gymnast this season to achieve a score of 9.875 on vault.

The Spartans will begin their home schedule for 2026 on Sunday, February 1, with a tri-meet against Southern Utah and Texas Woman’s at the Provident Credit Union Event Center. The event is scheduled to start at 2 p.m., and doors will open at 12:30 p.m. Youth aged 12 and under can attend for free, while tickets are available for purchase at the venue’s box office.
