Rep. Zoe Lofgren, who represents California’s 18th district in the U.S. Congress, posted several updates on her social media account on October 30, 2025, addressing topics ranging from a student competition to an ongoing inquiry involving former President Donald Trump.
In her first post of the day, Lofgren encouraged local students to participate in a technology competition: “#CA18 student coders and innovators: today is the last day to submit your apps for the Congressional App Challenge! I am looking forward to seeing what you have created!” (October 30, 2025).
Later that afternoon, Lofgren turned her attention to legal and political matters concerning Donald Trump. She wrote: “Donald Trump is trying to rip off the taxpayers by compensating himself $230 million for his criminal cases. It’s unconstitutional, and my @HouseJudiciary colleagues and I are demanding documents from the DOJ on Trump’s shakedown.” (October 30, 2025).
She followed up with another post linking directly to official correspondence: “Read our committee’s letter to DOJ officials:” (October 30, 2025).
Zoe Lofgren has served as a member of Congress since replacing Don Edwards in 1995. Prior to her tenure in Washington D.C., she was a member of the Santa Clara County Board of Supervisors from 1981 until 1994. Born in San Mateo in 1947 and currently residing in San Jose, Lofgren holds degrees from Stanford University and Santa Clara University School of Law.
