Rep. Zoe Lofgren, a member of the U.S. Congress representing California’s 18th district since 1995, has recently commented on several political events through her social media account.

On March 7, 2026, Lofgren posted about the commemoration of those who defended the Capitol during the January 6 attack: “I’m glad we’re finally honoring our heroes who saved the Capitol on January 6th. As a member of the J6 Select Committee, I was proud to already have the plaque hanging outside my office. Unlike Republicans, I didn’t hang it up at 4am.”

Three days later, on March 10, she addressed ongoing efforts by former President Donald Trump to challenge the results of the 2020 presidential election: “Trump is continuing to waste time trying to undo his 2020 election loss, even when REPUBLICAN election officials in Arizona testified that the official vote count was accurate. He’s more focused on hiding his own failures and than he is on lowering costs for Americans.”

On March 11, Lofgren highlighted cooperation between state and federal Democratic legislators from California: “It was wonderful to welcome our California State Senators and President Pro Tem @MoniqueLimonCA to DC last week! Our Democratic legislators at the state and federal levels are united and working to lower costs and protect Californians from Trump’s toxic agenda.”

Lofgren has served in Congress since replacing Don Edwards in 1995 and previously held office as a member of the Santa Clara County Board of Supervisors from 1981 to 1994. She was born in San Mateo in 1947 and currently resides in San Jose. Her educational background includes a BA from Stanford University earned in 1970 and a JD from Santa Clara University completed in 1975.
