Rep. Zoe Lofgren, a U.S. Congresswoman representing California’s 18th district since 1995, has recently used her social media platform to criticize former President Donald Trump’s trade policies and the current administration’s approach to scientific research.
On December 4, 2025, Lofgren posted: “Trump said he would revive manufacturing in America – he’s done the exact opposite with his tariffs, and House Republicans are blindly following along. We must reverse course.”
The following day, on December 5, she commented on the Biden administration’s science policy: “It’s simply not possible for this Administration to talk credibly about competing with China while undermining NASA and our research enterprise.”
Also on December 5, Lofgren directed followers to further remarks: “Watch my full remarks: https://t.co/JMhUVZlJC7”
Lofgren has represented California’s 18th District in Congress since replacing Don Edwards in 1995.
