Rep. Zoe Lofgren, who has represented California’s 18th district in the U.S. Congress since 1995, recently highlighted developments in her district through a series of posts on social media.
On February 3, 2026, Lofgren expressed enthusiasm for San Jose’s selection as a host city for the LA28 Olympic soccer matches. She stated, “I’m proud to see San Jose selected as one of the host cities for the LA28 Olympic soccer matches and for fans around the world to experience our vibrant city! “.
Later that day, she drew attention to technological innovation in local agriculture. In a post dated February 3, 2026, Lofgren wrote, “Bonsai Robotics is building innovative products in Watsonville to help support our agricultural sector. Thanks to Larry Jacobs for giving me a tour of his farm to see these tools at work! #CA18”.
In another post on February 3, 2026, Lofgren commented on federal budget priorities and recent legislative activity: “Republicans had a markup on balancing the budget today. They should’ve thought of that BEFORE slashing taxes for the rich and sending more money to ICE than our Marine Corps.”
Lofgren was born in San Mateo, California in 1947 and currently resides in San Jose. Before her tenure in Congress began in 1995—when she succeeded Don Edwards—she served on the Santa Clara County Board of Supervisors from 1981 to 1994. She holds degrees from Stanford University (BA) and Santa Clara University (JD).
