Representative Zoe Lofgren, a longtime member of Congress representing California’s 18th district, recently shared updates on her official X account about her visits and legislative priorities in Monterey County.
On November 14, 2025, Lofgren highlighted her visit to Joby Aviation: “Great to stop by @jobyaviation and learn about their electric air taxi service. California has always been a hub for impressive innovation, and I’m proud that the future of aviation is being developed right here in Monterey County.”
Later that day, she addressed climate change issues after meeting with a local advocate: “Climate change poses a serious threat to both America’s economy and environment. It was great to meet with Mike Clancy of Monterey’s @citizensclimate to discuss legislative solutions to reduce America’s carbon emissions and protect communities being ravaged by climate change.”
On November 15, 2025, Lofgren marked the anniversary of major federal legislation impacting infrastructure investment: “The Bipartisan Infrastructure Law was signed 4 years ago today. I’m proud to have voted for this historic bill, which has delivered critical funding to California:
$24.4 billion for roads and bridges
$22 billion for public transit
️ $1.4 billion for energy efficiency”
Lofgren has served in Congress since 1995, succeeding Don Edwards after previously working on the Santa Clara County Board of Supervisors from 1981 to 1994. She was born in San Mateo in 1947 and resides in San Jose. Her academic background includes degrees from Stanford University (BA) and Santa Clara University (JD).
