Defenseman Eric Pohlkamp was named Sharks Prospect of the Year for the 2025-26 season by team management. The award is given annually to a player in the Sharks system who has not played an NHL game but contributes significantly to his club’s success. Pohlkamp, age 22, led all NCAA defensemen with 39 points and 18 goals while helping Denver win a national championship. He was also a finalist for the Hobey Baker Memorial Award, named NCHC Offensive Defenseman of the Year, and earned spots on multiple all-star teams during his standout collegiate season.
Joshua Ravensbergen received recognition as Sharks Prospect of the Week for two consecutive weeks after recording back-to-back wins in WHL Playoff action with Prince George. He led his league in wins (32) and save percentage (.919), finishing fifth in goals against average (2.51), earning him a place on the WHL Western Conference First All-Star Team.
In American Hockey League news, the San Jose Barracuda clinched their second straight postseason berth by securing a spot in the Calder Cup Playoffs on April 4. The Barracuda lead all teams in power play goals scored (64) and are tied third overall for total goals (236).
