San José State Athletics announces schedules for week of April 20-26

San José State Athletics released on April 20 the upcoming schedules and recent results for its teams, highlighting competitions in women’s golf, beach volleyball, tennis, baseball, and softball.

The announcement provides fans and supporters with details on where Spartan teams will compete this week and how they performed in their most recent contests.

The women’s golf team is set to travel to Rancho Mirage to participate in the Credit Union 1 Mountain West Championship from April 21 to April 23 at Mission Hills Country Club. Last week, the Spartans finished sixth at the Chevron Silverado Showdown. Meanwhile, the No. 10 ranked women’s beach volleyball team will head to Huntington Beach for the MPSF Championship starting Wednesday. Their first match is scheduled against No. 7 LSU on April 22 following a previous loss to No. 2 Stanford.

Women’s tennis will compete as the No. 11 seed in Las Vegas at the Mountain West Tournament facing No. 6 Utah State on April 22 after closing out their regular season with a win over Fresno State. Baseball will begin its week by playing Pacific in Stockton on April 21 before traveling for a three-game series against Air Force starting April 24; last week saw them sweep Fresno State.

Softball wraps up its home schedule by hosting New Mexico in a three-game series beginning Friday, April 24 at Spartan Softball Field. The team plans to honor seniors Reina Zermeno, Ahmiya Noriega and Shay McDowell during Sunday’s game after recently winning one of three games against Utah State.
