San José State University’s athletics teams are preparing for a busy week of competition from March 2 to March 8, with several sports hosting home games and others traveling for away matches.
The women’s gymnastics team will compete against Air Force on Friday, March 6, after finishing third in a quad meet on March 1 with a score of 195.925. In softball, San José State will host the Silicon Valley Classic II over the weekend. They are scheduled for doubleheaders against Santa Clara and Saint Mary’s, with their first game against Saint Mary’s airing live on NBC Sports California at 10:00 a.m. Sunday. The No. 17 women’s water polo team is set to face No. 4 Cal on Saturday, March 7 in Berkeley before returning home to play Pacific on Sunday, March 8. Last week, the Spartans lost to top-ranked Stanford but secured a win over CSUMB.
Women’s basketball will celebrate senior day during their game against Colorado State on Tuesday, March 3 in San Jose before heading to Las Vegas for the Mountain West Tournament on Saturday, March 7. The previous week saw losses to Nevada and GCU.
On Monday, women’s golf will participate in match play against Stanford as part of the Battle of the Bay at Los Altos Golf and Country Club.
The men’s basketball team travels to Fresno State on Tuesday before returning home to play Wyoming on Saturday. Last week included an away win over Air Force and a home loss to Colorado State.

Women’s tennis hosts Santa Clara Thursday after earning a comeback victory over UC Davis last week but falling short versus Cal Poly.
The beach volleyball squad heads to Hawaii for tournament action this week with matches scheduled against Saint Mary’s, Pepperdine, Chaminade, Concordia University Irvine and UNCW across three days in Honolulu.
