The San José State baseball team has released its schedule for the 2026 season, which will be led by head coach Brad Sanfilippo in his ninth year with the program.
The Spartans begin their season on the road with a three-game series against Long Beach State from February 13 to 15. Their home opener is scheduled for February 17 against Cal Poly, followed by another home game versus Santa Clara on February 18. The team will then play a split home and away series against the University of San Francisco from February 20 to 22.
Another split series follows against Saint Mary’s from February 26 to March 1. After that, the Spartans will have a stretch of 14 consecutive home games between February 28 and March 22.
During this period, they will host a three-game series against the University of Pittsburgh from March 6 to 8. The schedule also includes two games against Bay Area rival Cal: one at Excite Ballpark on March 10 and another at Stu Gordon Stadium on April 15.
Mountain West conference play begins with a three-game home series against New Mexico from March 13 to 15 at Excite Ballpark. On March 20, San José State will play a double-header at home against UCONN and San Diego State, followed by additional games versus both teams over the next two days. The matchups with San Diego State during this period are designated as non-conference games.
In April, the Spartans travel for two games against Fresno State on April 17 and 18; these contests do not count toward Mountain West Conference standings. From May 1 to May 3, they will host Grand Canyon University for the first time since that school joined the Mountain West Conference.
The regular season concludes with a three-game home series against Fresno State from May 14 to May 16—a rematch of last year’s Mountain West Championship game. The Mountain West Championships are set for May 20 to May 23 in Mesa, Arizona.
“This season will mark the ninth season under the helm of head coach Brad Sanfilippo.”
