Fernandes is also sixth in on-base percentage and has reached base in all eleven games so far this season.
On the pitching side, Luka Pintar has an earned run average (ERA) of 3.00 over fifteen innings pitched, ranking eighth in the Mountain West. He has allowed five runs this season. Kyle Calzadiaz is fourteenth in ERA with a mark of 5.27 and is tied for sixth place in strikeouts with sixteen.
David Thomas recently pitched a complete game shutout during San José State’s 8-0 victory over Saint Mary’s on February 28. This was the first complete game shutout by a Spartan since Jack White achieved the feat against San Diego State on May 6, 2023.
Additionally, Tyler Albanese, Alex Fernandes, and Kyle Calzadiaz were named to the preseason All-Mountain West Team.
