The San José State women’s basketball team is set to open its postseason at the 2026 Credit Union 1 Mountain West Championship, facing Boise State in a first-round matchup on Saturday, March 7. The game will take place at the Thomas & Mack Center in Las Vegas, Nevada, with tip-off scheduled for 2:30 p.m. Pacific Time. Fans can watch the game live on the Mountain West Network, where Nate Kretchman and Cindy Fisher will provide commentary.

San José State enters the tournament as the 12th seed after finishing their regular season with a 4-27 overall record and a 2-18 mark in conference play. The Spartans are currently on a four-game losing streak, most recently falling to Colorado State by a score of 67-44.

Boise State comes into Saturday’s contest as the fifth seed with an overall record of 23-8 and a conference record of 14-6. The Broncos have also struggled recently, dropping two of their last three games, including a significant loss to UNLV (76-47) earlier this week. Boise State has won both previous meetings against San José State this season.

The winner of Saturday’s game will advance to face fourth-seeded New Mexico in the quarterfinals.

Head coach Gordy Presnell leads Boise State in his 21st season at the school and his 39th year as a head coach overall.

Historically, Boise State holds an advantage over San José State in their series dating back to the late 1970s. The Spartans’ last win against Boise State was on February 28, 2022. They are currently seeking to end a seven-game losing streak against the Broncos.

San José State has not recorded an away victory this season; their last road win occurred on January 22, 2025, against San Diego State.

Three Spartans players have achieved double-doubles during this campaign. Maya Anderson secured her second double-double with 16 points and 15 rebounds versus Colorado State earlier this week; her first came in December against CS Monterey Bay. Amira Brown posted two double-doubles—one at California Baptist and another at Utah State—while Gabriela Pato registered her first collegiate double-double with ten points and ten rebounds against Saint Mary’s in December.
