San José State women’s gymnasts Sophie Patterson and Kylee Larson have been recognized by the Mountain West for their recent performances.

Sophie Patterson received two awards: Beam Specialist of the Week and Freshman of the Week. She earned these honors after scoring 9.925 on the beam during a tri-meet at Sacramento State with California, finishing second in that event. This score was also the highest among freshmen in the conference, making it her fourth Freshman of the Week award.

Kylee Larson was named Floor Specialist of the Week. She achieved this recognition after earning a 9.900 on floor to tie for first place at the Spartan Quad meet held on Sunday. This is her first Mountain West honor.

The Spartans will next compete at Air Force against both Air Force and Denver on Friday night. The meet is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. MT/6 p.m. PT and will be broadcast live on the Mountain West Network.
