San José State women’s golf team in third after two rounds at Juli Inkster Invitational

The San José State women’s golf team finished the first two rounds of the Juli Inkster Invitational in third place on March 9 at TPC Harding Park in San Francisco.

The tournament is significant for collegiate golf teams, providing an opportunity to compete against other universities and showcase individual and team performances. The Spartans’ strong showing keeps them in contention as they head into the final round.

Kleopatra Kozakiewicz led the Spartans by tying for third place individually with a score of 1-under-par 143, including a second-round score of 70. Regina Roldan shot a 4-under-par 68 in the first round and is tied for 12th overall at 2-over-par 146. Roldan also ranks second among all players in par-4 scoring at three under par. Tessa Kremser is tied for 18th at three over par and shares second place in par-5 scoring at four under par. Isabella Cioe leads all players in par-3 scoring at two under par and is tied for 39th overall. Lotte Schuhr posted a one-under-par opening round and ended the day tied for 66th.

Two Spartans, Ting-Yu Chang and Moa Andersson, competed as individuals and are both tied for 29th after two rounds. Chang recorded scores of 74 and 75, while Andersson shot rounds of 71 and 78.

San José State opened with a three-under-par team score of 285 to take an early lead but finished the day with a total score of nine over par, trailing California by seven shots and Santa Clara by one shot. The Spartans lead all teams with twenty-nine birdies made so far and are tied for second in par-5 scoring at seven under par.

The final round of the Juli Inkster Invitational will begin Tuesday morning, with tee times starting at eight o’clock. The Spartans are scheduled to start their final round from the first tee at nine forty.
