San José State women’s basketball ends season after Mountain West tournament loss

Three players from the San José State women’s basketball team reached double digits in scoring during their first-round loss to Boise State at the Mountain West Women’s Basketball Championship. Maya Anderson led the Spartans with 18 points, marking her 19th game as top scorer this season and her 24th with double figures. She also collected nine rebounds, helping San José State reach a total of 38 rebounds.

Katarina Anderson matched her season high by scoring 13 points and made five of six free throws. She also grabbed five rebounds and led the team with four assists. Gabriela Pato contributed 13 points off the bench, tying her season high, while adding five rebounds and three blocked shots.

Other contributors included Allie Cummins and Stella Sgro, who each recorded an assist, and McKenna Simons, who led the team with two steals.

The loss ended San José State’s season with a record of 4-28 overall and 2-18 in Mountain West play.
