The San José State women’s basketball team is set to play Air Force this Saturday at the Provident Credit Union Event Center in a Mountain West Conference matchup. The game will be broadcast on NBC Sports Bay Area.

Last season, San José State defeated Air Force 90-84 in San Jose, marking their highest scoring output against a Division I opponent since 2014. In that win, current Spartan Amira Brown contributed 14 points.

This year, the Spartans have a 2-14 overall record and are seeking their first conference victory after five Mountain West losses. Their most recent game ended in a 67-52 defeat at Fresno State, where Carla Fuster and Allie Cummins each scored 11 points. The Spartans managed to outscore Fresno State in the second half and made a season-high 24 free throws on 32 attempts.

All Mountain West women’s basketball games are available for streaming via the Mountain West Network and its app, which can be accessed on Android, iOS, Apple TV, Roku, Amazon Fire, and Android TV platforms. More information is available at https://themw.com/mwapp.

Air Force comes into Saturday’s contest with a 7-8 overall record and one conference win over Nevada. The Falcons are led by head coach Stacy McIntyre in her second year. They lost their most recent game to Boise State.

The all-time series between San José State and Air Force stands at 15-5 since the teams’ first meeting in January 1997.

Maya Anderson leads San José State in scoring with an average of 13.2 points per game and has reached double figures in eleven games this season. She also leads the team with an average of 6.4 rebounds per game.

San José State ranks among the top teams nationally for blocked shots, recording a total of 68 blocks so far this season—an average of 4.3 per game—which places them within the top-70 programs nationwide. Their nine blocks against Pepperdine earlier this season were the most by any Mountain West team this year.

Gabriela Pato tops the team with 22 blocks; Kaliyah Dillard follows with fifteen.

Through January 8, national rankings show San José State is among the top-100 teams in six statistical categories: blocks per game (66th), defensive rebounds (97th), three-point attempts per game (37th), Maya Anderson’s field goal attempts (58th), Gabriela Pato’s total blocks (81st) and blocks per game (92nd).

Eight different Spartans have led or co-led the team in scoring across sixteen games so far this season.

After facing Air Force, San José State will host UNLV next Wednesday at home with tip-off scheduled for 7 p.m., also viewable on the Mountain West Network.
