San José State University’s women’s golf team secured a 4-2 victory over top-ranked Stanford in the Battle of the Bay, held Monday at Los Altos Golf and Country Club.

The match featured standout performances from several Spartans. Kleopatra Kozakiewicz faced Andrea Revuelta, who is ranked third among amateurs globally and second in the NCAA. Kozakiewicz came from behind, tying the match on hole 14 and taking the lead with a birdie on 17. Both players made par on 18, giving Kozakiewicz a 1-up win and San José State its first point.

Ting-Yu Chang contributed another point for San José State by defeating Anna Song, also with a 1-up result. Chang maintained her lead throughout the match and never trailed.

Lotte Schuhr earned a decisive win over Megha Ganne, who holds the fifth spot in world amateur rankings and sixth in NCAA standings. Schuhr led after the first hole and won three consecutive holes (12-14), finishing with a 6-and-4 victory.

Isabella Cioe defeated Paula Martin Sampedro—ranked second globally and fifth in the NCAA—by a score of 2-and-1. Cioe built an early advantage, leading by three after ten holes. Although Martin Sampedro narrowed the gap to one with five holes left, Cioe made a birdie on 17 to secure her win.

Stanford’s points came from Meja Ortengren, who beat Regina Roldan (4&2), and Kelly Xu, who won against Moa Andersson (4&3).

The Spartans will next co-host the Juli Inkster TPC Harding Park Invitational on March 9-10 at TPC Harding Park. The event will begin with two rounds on Monday starting at 8 a.m., followed by one round on Tuesday.
