San José State University’s women’s golf team finished 13th at the Therese Hession Regional Challenge, held at Palos Verdes Golf Club in California. The tournament concluded with UCLA taking first place, followed by Texas and Texas A&M.
For San José State, Moa Andersson and Lotte Schuhr both shot even-par 71s in the final round. Andersson tied for 63rd overall at 13-over par, making four birdies during her last round and totaling ten birdies across the tournament. Schuhr tied for 53rd at 11-over par with three birdies and thirteen pars on her scorecard.
Kleopatra Kozakiewicz was the top finisher for the Spartans, placing 48th at seven-over par. She closed her final round with six consecutive pars from holes eight through thirteen. Isabella Cioe also tied for 53rd after shooting a three-over-par 73 in the last round, recording three birdies and ten pars.
Regina Roldan ended tied for 59th after posting a final-round score of 79, highlighted by eight consecutive pars to finish her day.
After the event, head coach Dana Dormann commented on the team’s performance: “We are going to build on our momentum from here and carry it on to next week.”
The Spartans will return to Southern California for their next competition at the Alice and John Wallace Women’s Golf Classic, scheduled from February 14-16 in Palm Desert.
