San José State women’s gymnastics prepares for Senior Day and busy competition weekend

The San José State women’s gymnastics team is preparing for a busy weekend with two competitions, including Senior Day on Sunday, March 1.

The Spartans will begin their weekend on Friday at Sacramento State in a tri-meet featuring the Hornets, Spartans, and Cal Golden Bears. Cal currently holds the 28th spot in the rankings with a National Qualifying Score (NQS) of 49.092. The event will be broadcast on Overnght, and live scoring will be available online.

On Sunday, March 1, San José State returns home to host the annual Senior Day meet at the Provident Credit Union Event Center. The Spartan Quad meet includes Arizona State, Boise State, and Sacramento State as visiting teams.

At the conclusion of Sunday’s meet, all senior athletes will be recognized. This year’s honorees are Kyra Cato, Chloe Frank, and Mikaela Pitts.

The starting rotations for the meet are as follows: San José State begins on vault; Boise State starts on bars; Arizona State opens on beam; and Sacramento State competes first on floor.

Doors open at 12:30 p.m., with competition beginning at 2 p.m. Tickets can be purchased either at the box office or online. Admission is free for children aged 12 and under.
