The San José State women’s tennis team is set to play against Santa Clara University on Thursday, March 5, at noon at the Spartan Tennis Complex. This will be their only match of the week.

Last week, San José State secured a close 4-3 victory over UC Davis, with Soledad Fayos Capilla clinching the deciding singles point. The team then faced Cal Poly but lost 5-2.

In their previous meeting with Santa Clara on February 28, 2025, the Spartans narrowly won 4-3. During that match, both Soledad Fayos Capilla and Duru Durgun contributed singles victories that helped secure the win for San José State. The Spartans have won all three of their past matches against Santa Clara and are aiming to extend this streak to four consecutive wins.

San José State currently holds a 2-1 record at home this season. Freshman Camila Celis has been performing well on court five, holding a 6-1 record in singles dual matches and remaining undefeated in third-set situations with a 3-0 mark.
