San José State women’s water polo falls to Stanford; four players score

Four members of the San José State women’s water polo team scored in a match against Stanford, but the Spartans were defeated 21-4 by the top-ranked Cardinal on Saturday afternoon at the SRAC. The loss brings San José State’s record to 5-9 overall and 0-3 in Mountain Pacific Sports Federation play, while Stanford remains unbeaten at 8-0 overall and 2-0 in conference.

Jennine Osorio, Darcy Spark, Sarah Woren, and Mackenzy Clark each contributed a goal for San José State. On defense, Emma Ruzic drew three exclusions. Bridget Cranley and Darcy Spark each drew two exclusions as well. Spark also recorded three steals during the game.

Goalkeeper Tatianna Raffin finished with six saves for the Spartans.

The team will return to action quickly, facing Cal State Monterey Bay on Sunday, March 1 at 1:00 p.m. at the SRAC.
