The San José Fire Department (SJFD) has released a new recruitment video showcasing various career opportunities within the department. The SJFD, located in Silicon Valley, aims to maintain its heritage of excellence by recruiting candidates who reflect the diversity of the community.
Applications are currently being accepted for several positions:
1. **Senior GIS Specialist**

- This role involves overseeing Geographic Information Systems (GIS) data management efforts, coordinating with various City departments and the Enterprise GIS team on data conversion and consolidation efforts, providing geodatabase development and programming, assisting in developing and managing GIS project plans, and managing GIS teams.

2. **Firefighter Recruit (Bureau of Field Operations)**

- The SJFD is recruiting firefighter EMTs and firefighter paramedics for the 2025 Firefighter Recruit Academy. Applicants should have or be in the process of obtaining a valid EMT certificate, high school diploma (or equivalent), a valid CPAT card/letter (within six months of the application deadline), and must take a written exam through the National Testing Network website.

3. **Associate Engineer**
