The City of San José has announced the grand opening of Penitencia Creek Dog Park, a newly renovated space for residents and their dogs. The event will take place on June 28, 2024, from 9 to 10 a.m. at 3050 Berryessa Rd., San José, CA 95132.

Construction for the dog park began in January 2024 and was completed in June 2024. The new facility spans approximately one acre along the Penitencia Creek Trail, west of Piedmont Road. It features separately enclosed areas for small and large dogs, natural grass surfacing in the large dog area, fencing, site furnishings, and drinking fountains for dogs.

San José Animal Care & Services (ACS) will be present at the event to provide adoption and pet care information. They will also conduct a pet food drive to benefit animals currently waiting for adoption at ACS.
