On December 3, 2024, Rep. Lofgren announced financial support for innovative STEM research projects at San Jose State University (SJSU). She stated that "@SJSU is a leader in cutting-edge, innovative STEM research, & @RepAnnaEshoo, @RepRoKhanna, @RepJimmyPanetta, & I are proud to announce nearly $4 million to support nine projects."
The following day, on December 4, 2024, she addressed the issue of affordable housing in her district and across the country. In collaboration with Rep. Jimmy Panetta and other colleagues, she reintroduced legislation aimed at facilitating new construction of affordable housing units. Lofgren expressed her support for a letter from Attorney General Rob Bonta urging reconsideration of contracts with private immigration detention centers in California by the Department of Homeland Security (DHS).
