Zoe Lofgren, a U.S. Congress representative for California's 18th district since 1995, recently expressed her views on various pressing issues through a series of tweets. Lofgren, who holds degrees from Stanford University and Santa Clara University, has been an active voice in American politics.

On March 5, 2025, Lofgren highlighted the case of a Salinas scientist and Air Force veteran who was reportedly dismissed due to decisions by former President Trump and Elon Musk. She stated that this case "represents one of the many mindless firings by Trump & Musk that undermine our country’s science & innovation prowess." The tweet can be viewed here.

Later the same day, Lofgren commented on U.S. foreign policy changes under recent leadership. She noted the negative implications of these changes, especially regarding assistance to Ukraine and meetings with Russian President Putin. Her tweet read: "This is not surprising; it should be shocking... America must remain a democracy & stand with democracies." The original post is available here.

On March 6, 2025, she addressed concerns about agricultural tariffs imposed during Trump's presidency. Referring to retaliatory measures from Canada affecting produce from California's Salinas Valley, she agreed with @WesternGrowers' assessment that these tariffs pose risks to local farmers and agricultural communities. The complete tweet can be accessed here.
