Zoe Lofgren, a seasoned member of the U.S. Congress representing California’s 18th district, has expressed her opinions and concerns on various legislative matters through a series of recent tweets. The congresswoman, who has served since replacing Don Edwards in 1995, touched upon several key issues.

On April 7, 2025, Rep. Zoe Lofgren commented on former President Trump’s designation of “liberation day,” suggesting it was unusual for someone to boast about liberating American consumers from their own finances. She stated, “I’m ready to vote for legislation to halt the Golfer-In-Chief’s tariffs. Republicans in the House & Senate are”.

The next day, on April 8, 2025, Lofgren reported a meeting with the Santa Clara & San Benito Counties Building & Construction Trades Council. In her tweet, she noted their shared intent for President Trump to reverse an executive order that revokes collective bargaining rights. Her message reads, “The Santa Clara & San Benito Counties Building & Construction Trades Council stopped by to discuss fair labor practices & our shared desire for President Trump to rescind his Executive Order that strips collective bargaining rights.”

Lofgren, on April 9, 2025, addressed the budget cuts to the National Institutes of Health (NIH) under former President Trump’s administration. She criticized these measures by stating, “.@NIH cuts are not ‘making America healthy again’ – they are delaying lifesaving treatments.”
