Small business owners and entrepreneurs in San José will have the opportunity to connect and learn about resources and tools to help their businesses thrive at an upcoming event. The Small Business Empowerment Day, scheduled for Monday, May 20, 2024 from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., will take place at the San José City Hall Rotunda located at 200 E. Santa Clara Street.
City staff, partner non-profit organizations, and service providers will be present at the event to share resources for small business owners. Workshop topics at this free event include "Two Roads to Financial Success: Traditional Loans vs. Community Development Financial Institutions," "Quick and Budget-Friendly Marketing Tools to Advertise Your Business," and "How to use AI to Enhance Your Small Business."
The City of San José’s Small Business Ally Juan Borrelli will also be available to provide personalized guidance and advice on permits, inspections, and business licenses.
The featured speaker for the event is California State Treasurer Fiona Ma. She will share information on state programs that invest in local small businesses and communities.
