Applications are now open for SJ PLACES, a pilot program designed to eliminate fees and simplify applications for small-scale public events in Downtown San José. The initiative is available for events scheduled from now through October 31, 2024.
Carlos Velazquez, Public Information Manager at the Office of Economic Development & Cultural Affairs, stated that city staff, partner non-profit organizations, and service providers will be present at the event to share resources with small business owners.
SJ PLACES (Public Life and Community Event Spaces) aims to remove all permitting costs for organizers of small-scale outdoor events at select locations in Downtown San José.
