The City of San José has announced a new residential project at 1000 South De Anza Boulevard, set to replace an existing commercial building. The project, identified as H23-029 and ER23-232, will involve the demolition of the current structure and the construction of a seven-story, 99-unit residential building.
According to project details, "The project includes a Site Development Permit to allow the demolition of an existing commercial building and surface parking lot and the removal of 19 trees (including 13 ordinance-size trees) for the construction of a seven-story, 99-unit residential building." The new residential building will offer a mix of unit types, with a percentage reserved for affordable housing, as stated by the project applicant: "The project applicant would reserve 20 percent of the units to be provided at 80 percent of average median income."
The development will feature a variety of unit sizes, including "approximately 36 studios, 46 one-bedroom units, 17 two-bedroom units," along with amenities such as "8,714 square feet of common open space" and a parking area with mechanical lifts. The project is situated on an approximately 0.72-acre lot at 1000 South De Anza Boulevard in San José.
